Well, The infections keep coming. This time it was swelling caused by a cellulitis (?) bacteria. Good news is that it only took three days to identify the antibiotic that was required. Also good is that I am a lot more sensitive to changes in my condition and cannot afford to admire the situation.
So there it is. We are headed to the mountains this weekend. I like it a lot better at 5000ft just need to get cleared to fish and able to walk across uneven ground. Started the reclamation on the Corvette so that Mary and I can go play Route 66 once I get a trip ticket from the doctors.
Thank you for prayers

You are one touch Marine Ed!! Have fun in the mountains, I hope you catch more fish than you can carry.

I meant one TOUGH Marine. Just can't spell anymore either!

We hope your trip to the mountains was rehab. How about we meet you there in a couple months when the cold/cool weather hits the Sierras?? I thought about you today and wondered if you even feel like celebrating....bet not. Of course the 4th of July always means something different to those who have fought for the freedom to feel and use this free will thing.
ReplyDeleteGreat grandkids are only a couple years away, hang in there my friend. Semper Fi.

Ed,
ReplyDeleteYour comment last month about the Corps was right on. The antibiotics are fine, but without the toughness and determination they wouldn't be enough. Stay with it, and let's hope the doctors can figure out how to deal with this graft-vs.-host problem.
Our congratulations to Julia Marie on her arrival in this crazy world,

Dear Ed and Mary:
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new grand daughter. They are truly a gift and a motivation to keep on fighting. I hope that you had a great time in the mountains.
We are thinking about you and Mary and your courage and stamina. We will continue to pray for you both.
Love,
Barbara and Tom
Hey, Uncle Ed,
ReplyDeleteHope you got lots of good mountain air up at the cabin! On my flights to FL, I made sure to say prays for you at 30,000+ft. Looking out the window at those majestic God-made-sun-kissed clouds, many with lightning running through them, ...one can't help thinking their prayers are flying to God, faster than the plane is flying!!
Continued prayers ALWAYS!! I have no doubt you and Auntie will take that Route 66 trip!!
Love you guys!!!

Ed---keep up the fight. Sounds to me like you are in better shape than all the rest of us--but you just like the attention! (:>)

Hello, I served under your dad in Somalia with 3/11. How is he doing? Is he up to correspondence with one of his former troops?
